Dentures, also known as false teeth, is a prosthetic device used as a removable replacement for missing teeth. There are two types of dentures, complete dentures and partial dentures. Complete dentures stand in place of a complete set of teeth, while partial dentures fill in the spaces created as a result of missing teeth, and prevent remaining teeth from shifting out of position.

Supported by the surrounding soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity, dentures are typically made from acrylic resin in combination with various other materials. With the benefits of renewed mastication (chewing ability) and aesthetics that lend a flawlessly natural look to teeth, dentures may also improve pronunciation and self-confidence. Dentures aid in helping support the facial and lip muscles to stop them from ‘sinking in’. Dentures are also the cheapest way to replace many missing teeth.
